WonderCon

WonderCon, operated by the same great people who organize Comic-Con, just finished in San Francisco at the Moscone Center. It has about one third the attendance of Comic-Con and is a lot of fun. And it’s a great convention to start with for those who have never been to Comic-Con in San Diego and want to experience a great convention.

I was interested to read that, “WonderCon and Comic-Con are nonprofit educational organizations dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and related popular art forms, primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.” I always thought Comic-Con and Wondercon were classy conventions, but I’m even more impressed with the focus of their mission and that they are non-profit.
