Convention Updates
A few events have come and gone since our last update including the Armageddon Expos held in both Auckland NZ and Melbourne Au. We were able to attend the Melbourne event and you’ll find a podcast & event report elsewhere on this site.
Australia’s Culture Shock had to postpone their Stargate event due to low ticket sales (it was being held just two weeks after Armageddon which probably accounts for the low numbers) and we’ll bring you news as soon as that event is rescheduled. The guest list will change because both Kavan Smith & Gary Jones were able to attend the Armageddon Expo instead but we’re advised the Culture Shock team are working on some exciting Stargate guests to take their place.
Events are underway this weekend, Creation Entertainment’s last east coast Stargate convention & their Farscape Farewell (the 2nd) in Burbank in the USA as well as Wolf “SG14 minus one” in Germany.
In news of events coming up, Creation Entertainment will hold their Firefly & Stargate conventions in Burbank, CA in a couple of weeks and Fannish Inquisition intend to be there so look out for a report in the coming weeks.
The Stargate Atlantis Wraith Queen(s) Andee Frizzell has been added to the guest list for the Wolf event in Germany held 21-22 November. The New England Sci-fi Experience expo will be on the same weekend.
Amanda Tapping has been announced for a few events including Armageddon in Australia & NZ next year and AT4 to be held in the UK.
We’re not aware of anything scheduled for December (which makes sense given that everybody tends to be otherwise occupied at that time of year) so our next major convention news wrap will probably be in the new year.
Don’t forget to let us know if there’s an event we haven’t covered on the site. We’re always looking for reports from people who’ve attended events and we value your feedback on the site.
Oh! And don’t forget to check out the competition we’re running for your opportunity to win an autographed copy of David Hewlett’s film “A Dog’s Breakfast”* or a “Serenity Collectors Tin” autographed by Gina Torres**.
